The current state of the United States on marriage is one of limitations. Like those prior to the Civil Rights movement, two people who truly love one another are unable to be Wed because of birth disposition.
While the majority of Opposition to this idea is Religious, I remind you Mr. President we are a highly diverse nation, the melting pot of the World. Ones, nor the Majorities, Religious views should ever restrict the rights and liberties of others.
Many nations such as Canada, Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland are the proving ground that not only can Same-Sex marriage coexist with traditional marriage, but also that there is no sign of any "gateway" effect to allowing it.
Mr. President, you are at a critical crossroad in American History. Push legislation to allow equal love.
