Allow euthanasia so that our elderly can die with dignity.

Created by S.B. on February 13, 2013

Allow doctors the ability to give patients the option of euthanasia when there are no other solutions to their medical predicament. Patients should have the right to choose what they feel is right for them. Patients should have the right to die with dignity.

Precedence and Support:

"On October 27, 1997 Oregon enacted the Death with Dignity Act which allows terminally-ill Oregonians to end their lives through the voluntary self-administration of lethal medications, expressly prescribed by a physician for that purpose." (www.oregon.gov)

ACLU stated, "A state's categorical ban on physician assistance to suicide...substantially interferes with this protected liberty interest and cannot be sustained." (Vacco v. Quill)
