In the past to spur growth and expansion to the west, our great Government sold land parcels for $1 to persons in exchange for the development of them. With the Social Security system being so loaded and not currently sustainable, why not use the past to prepare for the future.
Living on Social Security Disability alone, you are paying me/us so we can spend most of it on rent. Why not provide (us) with federal land or even Detroit's abandoned housing for free saving us 80% a month in expense - thereby allowing - via agreement - to reduce the check I/we receive monthly. This would be a one time cost and save the entire system BILLIONS in the long run, potentially saving it for future generations.Social Security revenues exceeded expenditures, between 1983 and 2009. Outgo of ~$140.3 bill..
