Allow the FCC to regulate what can be labeled a news source, by mandating 75% of its substance be at least mostly true.

I call for the executive branch to give the FCC the power to be a watchdog over the information provided by "news" sources. Whether it be CNN, MSNBC, FOX NEWS, or any of the four staple outlets in NBC, CBS, ABC, or FOX. By mandating that 75% of their content be required to uphold a stance of true or mostly true, it will give major benefits back to the consumer. We currently live in an era where you must fact check every piece of news you hear due to the current manipulation of the stories. By mandating this standard through the FCC, we can help curb the polarization of the the political parties, the media, and the American people. The longer news sources are allowed to go unchecked, the worse the divide will become in our country. It's already affecting our ability to have informed debate.
