Grant government employees the right to request and receive payment for payroll or retirement income by issuance of gold or silver at face value of minted currency originating from the US Mint in lieu of paper currency or by electronic transfer of non-tangible or non-liquid currency.
This request is identical in essence to that put forward by Congressman Jerry O'Neil of Montana, an elected US Representative.
The US Mint has the capacity and the infrastructure in place to accommodate this request with payments made at face value of minted currency.
This request should be considered as an important hedge against inflation and against devaluation of a paper currency.
The petitioner is not an elected official nor is the petitioner requesting minted currency on behalf of an organization.
