Allow forgiveness to an immigrant that has made a false claim of citizenship instead of being permanently banned from US

I am writing a petition that would create a forgiveness from a false claim of citizenship to the united states...As the law stands it is a permanent ban from the US regardless of your family situation, past criminal history, or the number of years you have lived in the united states...There are a number of crimes that offer forgiveness, however just making a statement verbally is enough for a permanent ban, tearing apart of family, and has lifetime consequenses .. I feel this should be reviewed and offer a pathway of forgiveness to reunite family...This type of "immigration offense" is apparently the number one crime that could be committed and has the most severe penalty. I believe that this needs to be changed. It has torn my family apart!!
