Reconstruction was never given a real chance. It was sabotaged and 150 years after slavery, the african-american is still on the losing end of way too many issues. Disproportianately poorer, under-educated, over-incarcerated and drug addicted.
The problems stem from the feeling of alienation that African-Americans live with in the united states. There is a subculture; a counter culture that feels it will mever be seen as "american" so why try? Why be good citizens?
These feelings of exclusion on a colosal scale could be better addressed by us in a tribe or family of tribes modeled after the African tribal customs of old.
Let us govern ourselves within reason. Not to live lawlessly, but more lawfully, within these borders, give us our sovereignty, just like the iroquois nation and others
