Athens, Tennessee has been seen as a small, futile, city of illegal drugs. This is only because the government of Tennessee oppresses us. We feel small. Inferior. And in return we as a city are more prone to depression and self-conscious tendencies and therefore take medicine in order to make our whole city feel better.
It is my belief that if we were to secede from Tennessee and the nation as a whole - we will finally stand on our own two feet. We could become a self-sustaining country who doesn't need to self-medicate the city in order for the suicide rate to keep at a decent rate. With confidence our city would build larger structures, more businesses would open, we would make use of all the hunters and create our own military. There are so many more positives to the situation. ATHENS
