Allow up to 5 personal days per school year to high school students based off of the incentive of grades.
Not only will this promote better morale, but it will also motivate students to get better grades through a reward system.
For example, 90-100 GPA = 5 personal day; 80-90 = 4, etc.
Students are overworked, overtired, and overstressed.
Everyone needs time to recuperate. Everyone has "one of those days."
