We respectfully request legislation be passed which would allow semi-automatic handguns, with biometric safety provisions, into public schools for the safety and protection of America's children. The only officials authorized to carry the weapons within the school will be school Safety Officers and Administrators. The biometric safety mechanism will identify a legitimate/authorized user and prevent unauthorized persons from firing the weapon.
This technology already exists and can easily be disseminated once legislation is passed. While stricter gun laws have already been proposed, they sadly only apply to law abiding citizens. We believe that recent events show that a countermeasure is now necessary to reduce vulnerability in our public schools and protect our children.
