Allow the import and registration of vehicles not normally sold in America by personal importers for personal use.

Created by J.P. on May 14, 2013

We ask the Obama administration to encourage another look at laws that require vehicles imported from foreign countries to be certified by government agencies. We ask that laws be changed to allow strictly personal imports of exotic vehicles from overseas that don't meet normal consumer standards provided they are not ever resold to anyone else in the country. These vehicles would still be required to have minimum safety equipment such as headlights, tail lights, seat belts, e.t.c. Dealers and manufacturers importing cars would still be required to meet EPA & crash safety standards for vehicles sold to the public.
