It has come to our attention that Japan now has stricter emission regulations than the U.S. Thus the new Type R should be allowed to be sold in the U.S. irregardless of the emission problems of the first generation Honda Civic Type R. The emission standard of the current generation Type R should not be judged by its predecessor. Honda still has loyal customers in the U.S. that would provide generous market for the Type R, and would compete more so than any other front wheel drive hatchback on the market. Loyal Honda customers here in the U.S. deserve the same luxuries as their counterparts in Europe and everywhere else in the world.
