Being a Housewife and raising 2 children, my income was 'nil'. Then when I did go to work to help put my husband through college, I had a very low income at an entry level 'file girl'. Point being females are paid less than men - - nothing new. My current poverty level is due to the fact that I didn't die when I wanted to. I was laid off while going through cancer treatments - just didn't have any energy.
The Social Security Income is my main income source, not nearly enough to get me out of debt., but still necessary.
