Allow citizens to trade future Social Security Benefits to lower their yearly taxable income. This would spur the economy by letting people keep more of their money now, and increase Soc. Sec. coffers for citizens who will need them in the future. This should prove very popular to high-income individuals who would enjoy the large tax break more than the negligible (for them) retirement income of Soc. Sec.
Benefit reduction could be structured incrementally (say, for example, $500 a year) or cumulatively by pushing the date you'd start receiving full benefits later.
Details would need to be worked out but the overall benefits to the Economy and Soc. Sec. Would be undeniable.
