Men and Women in the United States of America are able to and are encouraged to join the armed forces at the age of 18. They are considered old enough to be trained in the art of war and old enough to be shipped across the world to fight and kill for this country. If and when they return to the United States and happen to still be under the age of 21 they are not legally allowed to buy or consume alcohol. These 18, 19, 20 year old man and women (in the eyes of the government) are old enough to kill but not old enough to have a beer or other alcoholic beverages. Service members under the age of 21, who are in possession of an active military ID or can show an equivalent form of ID proving completed service, should be held in the same regard age wise as a civilian 21 year old.
