Allow infertility diagnosis and treatment to be covered under the Affordable Care Act

Created by R.W. on November 17, 2013

As a woman who has dealt with "unexplained infertility" for the last 5 years, I have found it nearly impossible to function when it comes to health care in this regard. As a matter of fact, under the ACA I have been dropped from my health care plan simply because I take a medication to regulate my Prolactin which has restored my ovulation. I think it's ludicrous that most insurance companies will pay for you to get preliminarily "diagnosed" as infertile, but the coverage stops there. That's like saying "We'll cover the CT scan to tell you that, yes, you indeed have colon cancer. But good luck getting that tumor out cuz we're not covering any treatment beyond this point." There should be some expectations or requirements of health care providers in this vein.
