Statistics have shown that since California and Texas, the only 2 states that allow it, have enacted laws that allow lane splitting their motorcycling traffic accidents and motorcycle deaths have decreased at least 16%.
The act of lane splitting is most commonly used at stop lights where the motorcyclist is aloud to go over the white line between cars or up the side of the road.
Being in front of cars as a motorcyclist almost guarantees a car wont cut you off, because they cant. It will also provide a escape route for motorcyclists without them being penalized for it. It would also allow air cooled motors to not over-heat and stall traffic more then their already is.
