The1986 immigration reform law was supposed to include a crackdown on illegal entry which included tighter security at the Mexican border, and employers were supposed to face strict penalties for hiring undocumented workers. Of course this was also supposed to be a one time deal by providing amnesty for illegal aliens.
Here we are 27 years and 11 million + illegal aliens later we are again watching government attempting to provide amnesty for the second time to illegal aliens.
This time around "We the People" should be allowed to vote on the immigration reform bill.
