We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Allow LGBTQ men to donate blood

Created by A.W. on June 12, 2016

For the last 32 years, men who have sex with other men have not been allowed to donate blood, regardless of health. Thanks in part to a popular Change.org petition, in December 2015, the FDA overturned this law, and replaced it with one that stated that it would allow blood donations from these men as long as they had not engaged sexually with a man in the last year. This includes those who are single, those who have had the same partner for decades, and everything in between. Why ban donations from healthy individuals? This is homophobia and it needs to change.
