Allow Long Island to secede from the state of New York and become its own state

Long Island, as part of the state of New York is unfairly taxed to make up for upstate New York, a large part of our taxes go towards things that do not relate to Long Island and because Long Island has one of the highest cost of living in the United States I believe this will help us live more comfortably, and within our means. It is our right to secede and become the 51st state of the United States of America.
