We ask you to follow through on your campaign promise and allow Medicare to negotiate for lower prescription drug costs.
Currently, Medicare is prohibited from negotiating for lower prices, which allows drug companies to inflate costs. This amounts to a subsidy of prescription drug companies paid for by the medicare budget.
Allowing Medicare to negotiate for lower prices would save Medicare millions of dollars while actually INCREASING the benefits it provides.
You promised to do this during your first campaign, now that there is bipartisan talk about lowering medicare costs this is the chance to once again push for this needed change.
