United States Veterans deserve the best possible options in health care. The rate of suicides among U.S. Veterans (22 per day) prove that the health care they are being offered through Veterans Administration is ineffective. Additionally the amount of medications including opiates and benzo-'s being prescribed to veterans are entirely indicative of a system with no real answer to the problems of chronic pain, PTSD and other combat related illnesses and diseases. The classification of marijuana as a Schedule 1 narcotic is arcane and detrimental to society and the health of our citizens; particularly those who have fought for our freedoms. Veterans are treated no different from common criminals when seeking a natural and less harmful form of care and this needs to be changed immediately.
