Allow members of the Armed Forces to carry a concealed firearm on a military installation if they possess a CW permit.

Created by R.P. on April 02, 2014

The tragedies at Fort Hood over the past five years have shown us what happens when somebody opens fire within a "gun-free" zone. There is mass panic and confusion, and often a lag between the shooting and the police response. We as Soldiers are defenseless in these situations. We are trained to handle firearms safely, and eliminate threats to ourselves, as well as our brothers and sisters around us, yet while on a Military Installation, Service Members who possess a valid state issued Concealed Weapons (CW) Permit are denied their right to protect themselves and their families because they both live and work on a Federal Installation. I am asking that we change the legislation and allow Service Members who possess a valid CW permit to legally carry a firearm on-post while off-duty.
