We are members of the US Armed Forces, we are brothers and sisters in the profession of arms... yet we aren't trusted to protect ourselves with a firearm. We are sworn to protect and defend the Constitution, yet we aren't allowed to exercise our Constitutional rights where we spend most of our waking hours supporting and defending them.
Sexual assault is unfortunately a very real problem in the military, but we can't carry a firearm to defend ourselves. Active shooter situations are also becoming more and more problematic, yet our current training is to lock the door and hide, to resist safely if possible. How do we resist without training and the tools?
This should also go for military spouses who spend a great deal of time on military bases and who support members of the US Military.
