allow money transfers to Somalia.

Created by J.B. on February 11, 2015

As many have reported, nearly 50% of Somalia's Gross National Income comes from money earned abroad and almost 40% of the residents rely on these remittances.

Cutting off money transfers was designed to hamper getting funds to Al-Shabaab, but in reality, very little of the money has seemed to ever make its way to Al-Shabaab. Instead, stopping the transfer of money from Somalis around the world mostly hurts innocent people.
