When Obama says he will be letting in refugees, this doesn't mean millions of Syrians will be floating across the Atlantic on makeshift rafts. As of yesterday, the government has already resettled a total 1,809 Syrian nationals into America with no problems. All 1,809 of them have been reviewed extensively by Homeland Security in which they checked personal and background information and conducted in-person interviews outside of the United States to ensure they met the criteria to enter. As well, every individual had to undergo extensive health screenings and tests to make sure they can incorporate themselves into American society. 2,000 barely scratches the surface though; today, we should stop living as a united nation, but a united world and bring in more refugees into our country.
