New England is capable of supporting itself, and Blue States pay for Red States' services on a federal level - this is economic fact. The so-called United States, however, has values that stray wildly from what our region's populace holds dear.
We have actual small businesses compared to big chains, we're expanding public transport and sustainability, we're pro regulation, women's rights, anti money-in-politics, and would go further in military spending reductions & pursuing alternative energy sources faster and better than the sluggish federal government. The US continues its blind folly of "manifest destiny" causing untold suffering and the erosion of the middle class.
We know our real history and we can do better. The time is ripe. Now a new, peaceful revolution makes sense.
