This petition requests that all 50 States in the United States of America, be in compliance with federal law, specifically the National Firearms Act (NFA). In accordance to the NFA, any law abiding U.S. citizen can own NFA controlled items after paying the $200 federal transfer tax per item and complying with the registration of such items.
This petition specifically addresses the legal ownership of short barrel rifles (SBR's) and short barrel shotguns (SBS's, but excludes fully automatic weapons, destructive devices, sound suppressors and any other weapons (AOW's).
