Allow Non-Violent Ex-Felons To Be (gainfully) Employed

Created by V.G. on July 01, 2014

Allow Non-Violent Ex-Felons to be (gainfully) employed.

We are asking that after a year of not re-offending and/or receiving any other charges that an employer can consider an ex-felon based on their ability and experience. After three years of no other charges, that he/she can be part of an initiative similar to the Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy and enlist in the US Military as well.

We the people of America are asking that the cycle of prisoners stop. As it stands today, if a young person commits a crime and receives a mandatory sentence resulting in a felony charge, they enter into a vicious cycle of not being able to be employed and return back to crime. It is known that once a person receives a felony charge, then his/her earning power decreases and in some cases non-existing.
