After paying their debt to society for mistakes made certain felons should have the right to own a firearm for either home protection or to hunt for food. This should on be allowed for those who do not have a past history of violence or drug offenses.
This should follow under a certain grace period of no new offenses for a period of 5 years once debt to society has been paid and said person passes a firearm safety course and psychological testing. Said person will also be responsible for all costs for testing.
