Allow non-violent sex offenders (those who only had possession of pornographic material) to be removed from the list.

Created by D.B. on December 11, 2012

Non-violent federal sex offenders (those who purchased or possessed images of women under 18 but over 14) should be allowed to be removed from the sex offender list so they may resume a normal life after serving their time. One small error in judgement should not ruin a person's life forever. Even murderers and other violent criminals are given better options. Federal offenders are non-violent crimes since this is a result of receiving pornography via the US Postal service. No other crime requires a person to register on a national "list" and puts such strict restrictions on a person as does the National Sex Offender Registry. Please revisit the requirements of this horrible affront to human rights. Violent crimes would be understandable (perhaps) but many on this list don't belong.,
