Whereas dedicated funding to the space program is dwindling in our national budget;
Whereas the filing of individual tax returns currently allows for the option of $3 of an individual's federal tax to go to the Presidential Election Campaign Fund;
We, the Undersigned, propose that the option of designating a portion of our tax dollars to be allocated directly to funding the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the space program be added to income tax return forms.
If every individual were allowed the option of donating even $1 directly to the space program, we would go a long way in continuing the tradition of exploration and discovery set in motion by President Kennedy and the "space race" of the 1960s.
