Americans deserve to have an option at the pump. Oil companies need to invest in alternative fuels. Car companies need to produce flex fuel cars that run on ethanol, methanol, and other alternative fuels. A law needs to be passed to encourage alternative fuels to be used in this country. This is not a call to completely end oil consumption; rather, this is a call to make oil companies invest in fuels for the future and to end our dependence on oil as the only source of energy for our vehicles.
For decades we have been saying that we need to find a way to reduce our oil consumption. It's time we finally did something.
