Allow our students to have a full meal at our public schools in VA regardless of their parents/guardians ability to pay.

Say NO to cold cheese sandwiches!
Taking a hot meal away from our children is not the answer to collect unpaid school lunch fees from their parents/guardians. Not only does It humiliates the student in front of their peers by given them a cold bread & cheese sandwich but we are using food as a punishment because of the parents/guardian inability to pay. Some parents may not qualify for free or reduced lunches and/or have multiple children. If you are like me, I live paycheck to paycheck. Elementary lunch cost is $11.75/week and secondary school is $13.00/week for one student. When a note is sent home with a "child" stating they have a negative balance it may or may not reach the parents/guardian. We are our children's voices and its time to say NO to cold cheese sandwiches!!!
