Allow Over the Counter sales of Oral Contraceptives (the pill) without an invasive pelvic exam.

Created by V.C. on September 17, 2013

There is no link between oral contraceptives and cancer. Yet, millions of women are subjected to biannual pelvic exams as punishment for wanting to delay pregnancy until they are ready to become mothers. This has led to a large black market in which women buy potentially dangerous or outdated medicines from foreign websites just to avoid these degrading, unnecessary and completely unrelated exams. The morning after pill is the exact same medicine (levonorgestrel) as traditional oral contraception at a much higher dose WITHOUT a script.

I argue that a woman should be able to use effective birth control without the expense of a doctor's visit and the fees associated with testing if that is her choice. For the sake of your mothers, sisters, and significant others, please sign this petition.
