Allow for PAID FMLA and new mothers/fathers additional PAID leave after a birth or adoption.

Created by L.G. on May 11, 2015

Currently the United States and New Guinea are the only two countries left in the ENTIRE world that doesn't allow new mothers/fathers any paid time off unless your job allows it. In most cases though, new mothers/fathers have to give up their own time to get a few weeks of either paid or unpaid leave and it only allows up to 5-6 weeks. Something isn't right with this - it takes a woman 9 months to create and develop and fetus to term but we are only granted 5-6 weeks of either paid or unpaid leave. Adoption processes can take even longer and the same process of 5-6 weeks off is granted and sometimes with even more limitations. This is unfair treatment of new mothers/fathers who are basically forced to shorten their time bonding with their child all to make quotas. GIVE US MORE PAID TIME!!
