Parents & caregivers where I work were recently charged AWOL/LWOP for having to take off work for their children due to inclement weather. Mind you, our state governor demanded a state of emergency where, unless necessary, do not attempt driving. I feel that people who have children, that are not of daycare age, should be granted some type of paid leave...government & private sector alike. Parents should not be punished for having to do what they need to do for the welfare of their child. There are so many folks that don't work that get better benefits & programs than those that do. Please take into consideration & pass a bill that requires employers to be more empathetic toward people with children & cannot help but take off work to care for their children.
