Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People- “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
It is understood that the Constitution stands as compact agreement between the States and the Federal Union Government. There are no powers delegated by the Constitution to the Federal Union Government that allows the Federal Union Government to suppress any State from Secession. Since the US Constitution is agreed by the Federal Union Government and States to be Supreme law of the land it is then by de jure from the Tenth amendment the decision of Secession to be left to the States respectively, or to the people. This petition is asking for the recognition of State Secession.
