Allow the people of Atlanta, Georgia to remain a territory of the United States in case of secession.

Created by C.P. on November 14, 2012

Given that the city of Atlanta is the economic engine for the state of Georgia, and given that the city of Atlanta has demonstrated itself to be socially, culturally, and politically distinct from much of the state of Georgia, we the undersigned ask that, in case of any attempt by the state of Georgia to secede from the Union, the city of Atlanta (and like-minded areas within the metropolitan Atlanta region) be allowed to remain a territory of the United States of America.

If the rest of the state wants to try and hack it without Hartsfield-Jackson, without Coke and IBM and CNN and Grady and Northside and GSU and the Falcons and the Braves, they are welcome to try. But the people of Atlanta want no part of y'all's neo-Confederate agenda, thank you very much.

p.s. Savannah can come too.
