The people of the great State of Iowa do hereby respectfully petition the federal government that they be allowed to peaceably and without interference be allowed to dissolve the bonds of Union that exist between the State of Iowa and the federal government; that they may negotiate their own treaties and trade agreements; regulate their own commerce between the various other States and countries of the globe; develop allegiances and offer friendship and support to her sister states; maintain her borders against unlawful immigration; make laws for the benefit of her citizens; and keep peace and order within her domain. God bless the State of Iowa and all who call her their homeland; and God bless those who hold similar sentiments across this land.
