Extended terms, often lifetime roles, gives too much power to Congressmen and women and can lead to undue influence by lobbying groups. By installing term limits, we break this negative cycle and create a better opportunity for Congressional reform and better representation for the people. We need elected officials that are closer to reality and not so entrenched in Washington that they forget to represent their home district.
