Using a SSN works to identify an individual for the purpose of voting is the logical next step in a technology driven 21st century. The government already allows e-filing of taxes, and a similar process is possible to allow online voting.
Every person has one SSN so if you register to vote online you can't vote twice. By registering for the online method one would not be allowed to vote at the polling station. We can easily set up a web portal that allows someone to vote online to allow citizens a more convenient way to vote.
Online voting will:
- Reduces costs of absentee balloting
- Allows more people to vote when standing in line is not conducive to their schedules on election day
- Still requires you to register
- Makes sense in a technological world
