Why do alarm clocks, including phones, snooze for 9 minutes? Why not 10? Why not 5?
Why do manufacturers of alarms hinder the consumer’s personal liberty and freedom of choice in determining their own snooze setting? Currently we are all subjected to the manufacturer’s arbitrary and capricious divisiveness.
This injustice must stop!
We urge the Obama administration and Dr. Willie E. May, Under Secretary of Commerce for Standards and Technology and Director of NIS, to enact rules and implementing regulations requiring snooze-capable clocks manufactured, or made available for sale, in these United States to allow the device's owner the ability to set or modify the snooze interval at their personal discretion.
