My pets are no less dearer to me than my own offspring. They meet all the criteria specified by the IRS for dependent children:
1. Are they related to you? My pets are like my adopted children.
2. Do they meet the age requirement? Yes, my pet is under 19 years of age.
3. Do they live with you? Yes
4. Do you financially support them? My dog used to work at a local bar, but ever since he got into an ugly brawl with one of the patrons, I've been supporting him.
5. Are you the only person claiming them? #foreveralone
In this day and age, where we have dog spas, cat cafes, canine schools, and hell, even a Tinder for dogs, it's disheartening to see our government discriminating against our furry children just because they belong to a different species. It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous!
