Allow prior service Active duty Officer Candidates to change branches in OCS based upon skill and ability.

Created by P.W. on December 19, 2013

Active Duty Enlisted Soldiers are not able to change their branch at OCS since 2008. I was in the first class of Soldiers this affected. Class 008-005, Bravo Company 1st of the 30th; Ft. Benning, GA.

Having served in the Infantry in Combat as a Specialist and Sergeant, I was certain I would get a chance to be an Infantry Officer. I worked hard in OCS and could have picked up Infantry as my branch but was not able to due to the new MILPER. As a result I was picked for Field Artillery. I chose to stand against this policy and lost my job as an Army Officer.

Army Officers Serve per your Commission. Please allow those who have served in a designated MOS retain that MOS if desired. Its truly in the best interest of the Armed forces.
