The US government has used the Patriot Act to spy on Americans on both our soil and abroad without just cause. The mass collection of our phone data and at times the content of our calls, texts, and emails is in clear violation of the constitution. We the people will no longer tolerate or condone this encroachment of our liberties.
This is not the type of behavior from our government that our forefathers envisioned nor do the American people want it for our future. The principle author of the Patriot Act, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, has stated that he is "extremely disturbed by what appears to be an overbroad interpretation of the act." The provisions, which granted this authority, must be allowed to expire on June 1st and mass surveillance of the American people must cease immediately.
