Suicidal vets are being saved by giving them service dogs. This is a cheap and highly effective way to save their lives. But the military just put in place a rule that those dogs cannot be provided unless the CO approves, after a special review. Vets who currently have dogs are going to lose them, and others who need them will not get them. Maybe rules are needed, but meanwhile veterans will be dying of suicide if their animals are removed or they cannot get dogs. The President should step in and allow those dogs as a default position, pending rules that save lives
