Many states do enforce a death penalty, which is a good thing, but others only give a sentence that isn't near a good enough punishment for the harsh offence of murder. I believe that if most people that think they are gonna be hung for all the world to see that might deter them from committing murder. Public hangings should only be viewed by people 21 and over and only if they are willing.
