Allow Puerto Rico to become a state of the United States if its citizens decide to vote in favor of statehood.

The citizens of the Puerto Rico may be asked soon to vote in a national pebiscite to adress if they want to change their government's current political statuts of Commonwealth with the United States. If after this plebiscite the great majority of Puerto Ricans show through vote that they feel strongly about becoming a State in the Union it should be the President's responsibility to guarantee that statehood for Puerto Rico be granted. This petition should seek from the President of the United States complete suport from him if Puerto Ricans were to vote in favor of statehood in said national pebiscite.
