Currently, only U.S. diplomats working for the Department of State are provided with relevant language training when being sent to any post in the world. Those working in important fields who need the necessary training such as USAID and Department of Agriculture foreign service officers are not provided with any language training for assignments to the vast majority of countries in the world. This inhibits their ability to engage, negotiate, work and live in these places.
Have all foreign service officers and diplomats fully and equally trained before being sent abroad.
